David Powick has more than eight years’ experience working in the non-profit sector with a successful track-record in assisting organisations secure lead gifts for capital campaigns.

David’s consulting practice focusses on:

  • securing major gifts and coordinating capital campaigns

  • coaching non-profit leadership and volunteers on fundraising

  • establishing regular giving programs and annual appeals

  • helping organisations build meaningful relationships with their donors

  • Graduate Certificate in Business from the Australian Centre of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (QUT, Brisbane)

  • Undergraduate Studies in Architectural Technology (CPIT, Christchurch)



After finishing his studies in Architectural Technology at CPIT in Christchurch, David moved to Australia in 2009 to embark on two years of missionary work for the Catholic Church. He then spent six years at the Catholic Foundation as a Major Gift Officer and coordinated the Annual Catholic Campaign supporting the mission of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

After completing a Master of Philanthropy at Swinburne University, David moved back to New Zealand to help local organisations raise more money for their projects.


Fundraising Commitment

Prior to moving to New Zealand, David served on advisory committees to non-profit organisations in Australia, including Brisbane Oratory Vallicella Dinner and Brisbane Frassati Fraternity.

David has presented fundraising workshops and tutorials to groups across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
