Victoria University Foundation chairwoman Susan Alberti donated $1 million.

VU’s $2.5m windfall comes only a week after Charles Sturt University announced a $3m gift. Both donations come as fundraising experts claim that smaller and regional universities are better targeting philanthropic funds, which traditionally have been directed towards the larger city institutions.
